Assembled cable length: 8′ 6″. This 7 ft torsion spring cable is made for a standard lift door with a Torsion spring system. It works for all residential garage doors 7ft high that have torsion springs. Garage door cable is 1/8″ thick made with Galvanized Aircraft Cable, and is 8′ 6″ long.

8 ft Garage Door Torsion Spring Cable. For use with 8′ high garage doors with torsion spring systems. Assembled cable length: 9′ 6″. This 8 ft torsion spring cable is made for a standard lift door with a Torsion spring system. It works for all residential garage doors 8ft high that have torsion springs. Garage door cable is 1/8″ thick made with Galvanized Aircraft Cable, and is 9′ 6″ long.

 

The cables are attached to the bottom of the garage door and a cable drum at either end of the torsion spring shaft. When the torsion spring turns the drums, the cables wrap or unwrap around the drum, the door lifts or closes. The spring winds up when the doors are lowered and unwind when lowered – helping move the weight of the door.

Extension Springs Cables 7×19 strand 1/8″ – they are made up of thinner strands of cable but many more. For example the 7×19 strand cable is 19 thinner strands per bundle then 7 bundles are twisted together to make the 1/8″ cable. The 7×19 strand cable is much stronger with a capacity of 1950 lbs and much more flexible than the standard 3/32″ extension cables.
