This 8 ft torsion spring cable is made for a standard lift door with a Torsion spring system. It works for all residential garage doors 8ft high that have torsion springs. Garage door cable is 1/8″ thick made with Galvanized Aircraft Cable, and is 9′ 6″ long.

When the torsion spring turns the drums, the cables wrap or unwrap around the drum, the door lifts or closes. The spring winds up when the doors are lowered and unwind when lowered – helping move the weight of the door.
